Restons aux États-Unis.

Associé de force aux démocrates, je me bats autant contre les républicains. Vous m’avez vu demander le départ de Joe Biden qui avait pourtant plusieurs politiques semblables à ma philosophie. Une différence mentionnée ici:

Il faut bien le dire, il y a aussi l’immigration. Laisser miroiter l’ouverture des frontières représente une attaque à l’identité américaine.

Bien sûr, on peut ramener la chose à un duel racistes contre antiracistes, malgré l’énorme manque de nuances. Avouons-le, peu s’admettent racistes! Normal. Chacun et chacune a tout un système psychologique qui le guide et le justifie.

J’ai aussi cette dissension avec le Parti libéral du Canada. Justement, je suis plus près des conservateurs sur cet aspect. Fin de parenthèse.

Je résume la contradiction. Chez les démocrates, on pointe à tort le racisme pour expliquer un discours portant sur la réduction de l’immigration. Selon mon analyse, l’Américain cherche son identité et n’arrive plus à se recentrer. On ne peut nier que la blancheur de la peau a été un critère plus ou moins conscient d’identification. Probablement que l’accès au rêve américain en était un autre. Quand on peine à s’acheter des œufs, on imagine fort bien le rêve disparu. Quant à la maison ou au logement confortable, on est ailleurs. L’Américain se fait voler son identification et son rêve. L’inquiétude est réelle. Si ce n’est pas l’immigration le problème, c’est quoi? Les démocrates n’offrent rien en remplacement de ces identifications.

Si on ramène la chose dans mon imagerie, démocrates et républicains ont atteint le point de l’implosion totale. Le passage de la spirale de la mort à la spirale de la vie s’impose. (Faisons un parallèle entre ces deux spirales et les pulsions de mort et de vie qu’on retrouve en psychanalyse.)

Qu’est-ce qui fait qu’un Américain se sent américain ?

Au Québec, une situation semblable quoique différente dans sa forme. Le Québécois francophone doit abandonner son socle pour devenir canadien. Un non-sens.

Let’s stay with the United States.

Forcibly associated with the Democrats, I fight the Republicans just as hard. You saw me call for Joe Biden’s departure, even though many of his policies aligned with my philosophy. One point of contention was mentioned here:

To be frank, there is also the issue of immigration. Dangling the prospect of open borders represents an attack on American identity. Of course, one could reduce the matter to a duel of « racists vs. anti-racists, » despite the glaring lack of nuance. Let’s face it: few admit to being racist. That’s normal. Every individual has an entire psychological system that guides and justifies them.

I have a similar disagreement with the Liberal Party of Canada. In fact, I am closer to the Conservatives on this particular issue. End of parenthesis.

To summarize the contradiction: among Democrats, racism is wrongly cited to explain a discourse focused on reducing immigration. According to my analysis, Americans are searching for their identity and can no longer find their center. We cannot deny that skin whiteness has been a more or less conscious criterion for identification. Likely, access to the American Dream was another. When people struggle to buy eggs, it’s easy to imagine that the dream has vanished. As for owning a home or finding comfortable housing, that is now out of reach. Americans are being robbed of their identity and their dream. The anxiety is real. If immigration isn’t the problem, then what is? The Democrats offer nothing to replace these lost pillars of identity.

If we bring this back to my conceptual framework, both Democrats and Republicans have reached the point of total implosion. A transition from the « death spiral » to the « life spiral » is necessary. (Let’s draw a parallel between these two spirals and the life and death drives found in psychoanalysis.)

What makes an American feel American?

In Quebec, we see a similar situation, albeit different in form. The French-speaking Quebecker must abandon their foundational roots to become Canadian. It is a non-sense.
